A great quick worksheet that can be printed and set for cover work.
Students will be asked to work on designing their own deck of cards. I have used it in the past and have received some really creative submissions.
An opportunity for them to practice their illustration and design generation skills.
DT cover worksheet - No teaching required - print or assign online -

A generic and editable slide show that teaches the importance of evaluating and how to successfully evaluate a product. Resource comes with accompanying booklet insert that can be placed in any project booklet or even printed as a worksheet for classwork or homework.
As DT teachers we are always rushing to get our students to complete a product and project evaluation. It is essential that students are aware of the importance of testing and evaluating a product. This slide show breaks down how products are tested in industry and then goes on to explain how students can carry out a successful evaluation of their own.
Tried and Tested - Editable.
Worksheet that is designed for students to design their own puzzle. Can be edited to be given a theme or context. Students can work independently through the worksheet. Tried and tested.
A KS3 Textiles project that introduces students to the global goals and encourages them as designers to create solutions to target global goal 14 :
Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.
The resource contains a 35 page slide show that starts by introducing the students to the global goal and then setting them a design context that relates to it. The resource has structured lessons that will guide students through the design process and introduce them to basic hand sewing techniques. Students will create a sewing pattern and then create a product using these hand sewing techniques. The resource has an accompanying project booklet and other resources. This is a brilliant project that I have delivered to KS3 students over the past few years and they really connect with it and adore their outcomes.
A great introduction to Textiles as the project is challenging but accomplishable enough for students of their age. The project has the depth to stretch higher ability students as much as it facilitates for not so able.
Can be a great project to insert into a KS3 DT rotation/carousel. Booklet is editable and simple enough to incorporate into a larger yearly booklet.
A worksheet designed to help KS4/5 DT students learn and revise specific tools linked to measuring and marking. The worksheet can be set as a research task.
No teaching required.
A slideshow and worksheet that cover the making of an MDF spinning top. A great first mini project for KS3 students. Covers technical drawing of a Hexagon, using a Tenon saw, bench hook, pillar drill, mallet and more. Tried and tested, students love having a spin off tournament afterwards - opportunity to talk about friction, energy and rotational movement.
A KS3 graphics DT project that encourages students to raise awareness of the global goals 14 and 15.
Full term project with slides and workbook.
The project will first introduce students to the importance of good graphic design. They will learn the importance of imagery and symbols and then follow a brief history of how graphic design has developed over the years. The project will then progress by introducing them to the fundamental elements of graphic design. The students will learn about layout, colour theory, typography and more. Students will then be given a design brief to raise awareness of the global goals through the design of a graphic leaflet. They will then follow the design process to meet their brief.
A great prject to introduce students to graphic design. 8 lessons, 42 slides and accompanying workbook.
